TULSA, Okla., Sept. 29, 2020 – Bad data has been the Achilles’ heel of enterprise data management since the dawn of the information age more than 50 years ago. So, why is poor data quality still a fundamental problem in 2020? And what can be done to reverse the trend once and for all?
Stonebridge Consulting Managing Director William (BJ) Cummings will address these questions during his presentation on “Data Quality in Oil and Gas: Now Is the Time to Take Action” on Wednesday, Sept. 30th at PPDM’s Data Management Workshop. The virtual workshop runs Sept. 29 – Oct. 1.
Cummings oversees EnerHub, a modern digital platform designed for the energy industry to establish a bedrock data foundation and enable rapid discovery of actionable insights.
Cummings’ session, which starts at 11:25 a.m. Central, will provide a practical guide for establishing an automated data quality regimen. With governance guidelines in place, this regimen can generate tangible business impact by accelerating decision-making cycles and offloading data gathering and integration activities from information consumers on the business side.
Cummings will explore long-term strategies for sustaining high data quality over time, to include specific data management techniques, tools, and platforms that enable greater productivity and reduce costs.
Additionally, Cummings is scheduled to discuss the newly launched EnerPub oil and gas public data solution as part of event sponsor Snowflake’s presentation on Thursday. Launched last month, EnerPub represents a new approach to oil and gas public data. The product of a collective effort by Stonebridge, our clients, and business partners, EnerPub is designed to reimagine how oil and gas public data is accessed and used.
