TULSA, July 8, 2011 – Stonebridge, a leading information technology consulting firm, today announced that Raul Salas, a senior consultant in the company’s Database Services practice, will address the Houston Area SQL Server User Group at its July meeting. The SQL Server User Group will meet Tuesday, July 12, at the Microsoft Houston Office.

Salas, a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCITP) database administrator for SQL Server, will speak on the topic “How Solid-State Drives Saved an Unusable Application.” This presentation looks at a real-life example of a mission-critical financial application where usage significantly exceeded the software vendor’s recommended database size and activity specifications and caused SQL Server outages. Solid-state drive implementation allowed the business users to exceed the original software vendor’s limitations and eliminate SQL Server outages.
