A top-tier oil and gas company is generating new efficiencies in the field and the office from a SmartSource managed services agreement that provides 24/7 support for its WellView, SiteView and FLOWCAL application environments.

Opportunity

The client is a Fortune 500 oil and gas company focused on high-quality unconventional assets in multiple U.S. onshore plays. The company follows a value-driven business model that emphasizes creating efficiencies and keeping costs low throughout its business.

The company’s growth strategy is built around a proactive acquisition and divestiture (A&D) program. Over the years, the program has resulted in a complex organizational structure. This complexity manifested itself in many data and process dependencies, increasing labor divisions between departments and increasing burden on IT to manage operational software environments and support field and office personnel.

Looking for a better, more cost-effective way to manage specific system management tasks, the company turned to Stonebridge. Via our SmartSource managed services offering, we tailored a 24/7 systems support program for the company’s WellView, SiteView and FLOWCAL environments.

Solution

The in-scope systems in the SmartSource agreement are industry-standard upstream oil and gas applications. WellView is a well information management system for well planning, drilling, completion, testing and workovers. SiteView is a system for construction, reclamation, pipeline, facilities and water data management. Both are part of Peloton’s integrated well lifecycle analysis and visualization software suite. FLOWCAL is a software application for validating, balancing, storing and reporting gas and liquid measurement data. It is the flagship product of oil and gas software solutions company Flow-Cal, Inc.

Under the SmartSource managed services agreement, Stonebridge is collaborating as part of the client’s team—interacting daily with business users and IT management—to provide front-line help desk and system administration support. A SmartSource team of industry and solution specialists provides standard administrative services, such as patch installation and upgrades, performance optimization and reporting, system health checks, and user training. Additionally, the client’s SmartSource agreement includes advanced system optimization services for each of the in-scope applications. Both advanced and standard SmartSource managed services are backed by a defined service level agreement (SLA).

“Beyond our standard SmartSource services, this agreement covers a broad group of performance-driven optimization and integration services for these specific systems. For the Peloton environment, we are managing UDL changes, creating scripts for A&D data updates for WellView, and even managing the installation and delivery of field laptops. For FLOWCAL, we are validating integrations and SCADA data import from CygNet to FLOWCAL, and managing data transfers to Enertia, and more.”
